Dr. Jonathan Parke is the director of ‘Sophro’ Ltd., an organisation specialising in independent research, evaluation and education on safer gambling behaviour, game design and self-control. Dr. Parke has spent the last 20 years researching the links between gambling products and their features, and how these may be related to problematic play. His previous roles include: Director of Commissioning for the Responsible Gambling Trust (RGT) and research positions at the International Gambling Research Unit, Nottingham Trent University, and the Centre for the Study of Gambling, University of Salford in the UK. Dr. Parke has also developed, delivered and managed a number of university level courses and corporate training programs in gambling studies over the last two decades. He has also developed the first industry training program on game design and safer gambling: Game Awareness in Player Protection (GAPP) which is currently being used some of the biggest companies in the gambling industry.
