Mike ODonohue

Chief Data Officer, Camelot

Mike has spent over twenty years working at the intersection of strategy, behavioural science, and advanced analytics. He is excited by the power of data science to reshape both customer experience and organisational decision making. As Camelot’s first chief data officer Mike has transformed the role of data at the National Lottery. He has made data a Board level priority, elevated data driven decision making to be one of the businesses core operating principles and developed a big data and advanced analytics strategy. The National Lottery now has a state of the art data science platform and is using cutting edge analytical and machine learning techniques to unlock deeper insights into consumer preferences and behaviours. These insights are being combined with the latest thinking from the behavioural sciences to enable the National Lottery to deliver more relevant and personalised shopping and playing experiences. Prior to Camelot, Mike worked at British Gas, Tesco and McKinsey & Co. He has a PhD in psychology and statistics.
